Toucans


We are a Year 3 class and our Teacher is Mr. Thomas. Mrs. Johnston & Mrs. Hill are our TAs.

Last week in Toucan Class (16-04-18):
The Toucans came back from their brilliant Easter break. We looked at Division in Maths, Recounts in English, Volcanoes in Geography and Science, Materials in Design Technology and Handball in P.E. Our new Home Learning menu is pictured below, along with an outline of what we are doing this term.

Notes for this week (23-04-18):
On Tuesday we are using Mod Rock in our class to create our volcanoes, the children will need to bring in a t-shirt that you don’t mind getting messy and ideally some trousers too! Thank you.

Science: We are going to be exploring rock types and plant life.
Computing: We will be looking at coding games using Scratch.
Geography: We will be studying world maps to locate different natural disasters.
History: We are going to be looking at the Stone Age.
PSHE: We are going to focus on relationships.
Art/Design: We will be looking at a range of Environmental Artists.
Music: We are going to be looking at performing using a range of instruments.
P.E: We will be looking at Handball and Athletics.

This book can stay at home and be used as little or as much as you would like.
It is due in on these dates so that we can check and share what has been done: 02/02/18, 23/03/18, 18/05/18 & 13/07/18

Maths Passports:
Next to each skill, there are three columns to date (MM/YY). The first box is for the pupil to date when they think they have achieved the skill. The second box is for an adult at home to date when they have seen the child achieve this skill. The third box is for the teacher to use when they have verified that the skill has been achieved.

This resource should help you to assess each of the skills as they would be in the classroom. Where there is reference made to an ‘attached task’, these are also included here to help you.
