We are a Year 3 class and our Teacher is Mr. Thomas. Mrs. Johnston & Mrs. Hill are our TAs.

This week in Toucan Class:
This week in Toucan Class we have been learning about how to describe 2D and 3D shapes. We have been finishing our adventure stories in English, learning about circuits in Science, animation in Computing, capital cities in Geography, watercolour painting in Art and netball in P.E.

Learner of the Week:
Our learner of the week is Abby for her excellent attitude toward all of her learning especially when writing.

Term 3 Topic: Mega Movie Makers (January 2018 – February 2018)

English: We will be looking at play scripts, paragraphs and possessive apostrophes.
Maths: We will continue looking at our 4 operations as well as measuring in cm, m, g, kg, ml and l.
Science:We are going to be exploring light and sound.
Computing: We will be contributing to our class blog on a range of computing topics.
Geography: We will be studying local maps and looking at human and physical aspects of them.
History: We are going to be looking at influential people of the 20th century.
PSHE: We are going to focus on equality.
Art/Design: We will be looking at a range of different painting styles and types of paint.
Music: We are going to be looking at performing reggae songs using a range of percussion.
P.E: We will be looking at different balances in gymnastics and invasion games in outdoor P.E.

The Toucans will have new weekly spellings when we come back after Christmas.

Home Learning:
Our Home Learning for the rest of Autumn 2 is to learn the lyrics to the songs for the Christmas show.

Maths Passports:
Next to each skill, there are three columns to date (MM/YY). The first box is for the pupil to date when they think they have achieved the skill. The second box is for an adult at home to date when they have seen the child achieve this skill. The third box is for the teacher to use when they have verified that the skill has been achieved.

This resource should help you to assess each of the skills as they would be in the classroom. Where there is reference made to an ‘attached task’, these are also included here to help you.

We have outdoor P.E on a Wednesday and indoor on a Thursday.
Please make sure your child has the appropriate clothing on these days.
