This week in Toucan Class:
We are preparing for our Street Festival on Friday 13th October.


This week for home learning we are only expecting something in the Reading Related Activities book – Not from our home learning menu.

Our Learner of the Week (13/10/17):
Is Alfie because of his incredible enthusiasm for contractions and motivating the rest of the class to learn!
Our theme for the Autumn Term (September to October Half Term) is: URBAN LIFE
EnglishWe are writing leaflets about life in Salisbury.
MathsWe are recording and collecting noise data in the city.
ScienceWe are looking at plant life in and around cities.
ComputingWe are looking at the impact of social media/ the internet on our lives.
GeographyWe are looking at physical changes from the Stone Age to now.
HistoryWe are looking at human changes from the Stone Age to now.
Music We are looking at and performing some hip hop songs.
ArtWe are looking at and producing our own street art.
DesignWe are looking at and producing our packaging and logos.
 Each week the children learn 6 Spellings in our class. These are the spellings for the week starting 02/10/17:

Our Home Learning choices. These are to be brought in, or emailed ready for a Monday afternoon:
Maths Passports:
We regularly check our passports so please make sure they are in every Friday.
The passports should be first dated by your child when they think they have achieved the goal, then by yourselves when you think they have achieved the goal and that is when we will check them in school and move them on. Try to complete at least one goal per week.
We have P.E sessions on both Wednesday and Thursday, please make sure your kit is in. (Outdoor Wednesday, Indoor Thursday)
We change our reading books on a Tuesday and Friday, if you have finished your book before these times, find something to read at home and write it in your reading record. – Children are responsible for changing their own books in the Juniors.
