We are a Year 3 class and our Teacher is Mr. Thomas. Mrs. Johnston & Mrs. Hill are our TAs.
This week in Toucan Class:
We’ve had a very busy week in toucan class, learning new methods to multiply numbers and writing letters to Disney about adding some more gender equality in their films. We also were lucky enough to have Wessex Archaeology in to teach us about the land our school was built on.
Learner of the Week (23/02/18):
Our learner of the week is Lynette for her persuasive sentences with a range of conjunctions!
Term 3 Topic: Mega Movie Makers (January 2018 – February 2018)
Movie Trivia Showdown:
English: We will be looking at play scripts, paragraphs and possessive apostrophes.
Maths: We will continue looking at our 4 operations as well as measuring in cm, m, g, kg, ml and l.
Science:We are going to be exploring light and sound.
Computing: We will be contributing to our class blog on a range of computing topics.
Geography: We will be studying local maps and looking at human and physical aspects of them.
History: We are going to be looking at influential people of the 20th century.
PSHE: We are going to focus on equality.
Art/Design: We will be looking at a range of different painting styles and types of paint.
Music: We are going to be looking at performing reggae songs using a range of percussion.
P.E: We will be looking at different balances in gymnastics and invasion games in outdoor P.E.
Week Beginning 23/02/18:
Home Learning is now due in on a Friday – The first of which is due 19/01/18.

Reading Related Activities Book:
This book can stay at home and be used as little or as much as you would like.
It is due in on these dates so that we can check and share what has been done: 02/02/18, 23/03/18, 18/05/18 & 13/07/18
Next to each skill, there are three columns to date (MM/YY). The first box is for the pupil to date when they think they have achieved the skill. The second box is for an adult at home to date when they have seen the child achieve this skill. The third box is for the teacher to use when they have verified that the skill has been achieved.
